Foyers
"Foyers" is the name we use for our series of informal dinner
gatherings held monthly from September through June (excluding
December). The purpose of Foyers is to allow Grace Church members to
get to know one another in an informal, friendly setting. The Foyers
program is open to all adult members of Grace Church and invited
guests.
Foyers dinner parties are held on the last Saturday of each month in
the homes of volunteer Foyers hosts and hostesses. On each Foyers date
there may be 3 or 4 dinner groups gathering in different locations,
with 8 to 12 in each group. Great efforts are made to ensure that the
composition of the dinner groups varies from month to month.
Attending a Foyers evening does not obligate a guest to become a host
or hostess for a future Foyers date. If you're interested in either
joining or hosting one of our informal dinner gatherings, please
contact Pat Mix through the Grace Church office at 607-732-0545.
The Foyers program also sponsors a Family Picnic with special invitations extended to new members and recent guests attending services at Grace Church. Children are included in this event, which is held at the rectory, usually on a Friday evening in mid-June.
Foyers also hosts the annual Laetare Sunday (Lent IV) dinner. On this occasion, the monks from Mount Saviour Monastery come to Grace Church to sing Vespers, share a dinner and conclude the evening with the office of Compline.
